You can take a snapshot of stack or live pictures. For example you can take a snapshot after 3 stacks, take another one at 10 stacks and so on...

I'm interested.
I would also like to be able to remote into the device from my laptop using the windows RDP app - which also exists for android and mac devices. Will the device include the necessary linux software ? See https://raspberrytip...p-raspberry-pi/.
thanks again

Hi John, you can connect to the Astrowl box through any browser from smartphone (android, iphone), tablet, computer (PC with windows, Mac with IOS), ... So it is compatible with any device

I am going to send the first prototypes to users who are interested, I hope they will soonly contribute to this topics, give me feedbacks to improve the box and share pictures they were able to catch.

Hi guys, few batches of Astrowl boxes will be shipped in the coming days, and I hope the guys who will receive it, will be happy and post feedbacks. If you are interested, please contact me.
There is also big improvement on the IMX462 sensor, supplier sent me a firmware update that allows exposure up to 15 sec on each frame. This means that you will get the best of this really sensitive sensor.

Tonight is dedicated to few globular clusters : M3, M13 and M54 (not good tracking for this one).
Pictures are done with 130mm apo refractor on alt/az mount (eq mount is not mandatory) Imagine what you could do with a bigger scope...

If some of you are interested to get a proto release of astrowl box, contact me. I will limit to around 10 to 20 protos to get a small community and see if it is interesting to continue the project

I feel like this would really be great for my upcoming outreach events. Especially since I tend to only look at planets.
I'm sure people's jaws would drop at seeing a dso.

Hi guys attached are 2 pictures taken from a night test, so you have an idea how the astrowl box look like in real situation. It was pointing to M13.
I install it like an eyepiece behind a star diagonal if necessary.

Hi guys,
Just to let you know that a new functionality is available from the user interface on the Stack View, it is now possible to ask the Astrowl box to automaticaly sort best frames to stack and exclude the not so good ones.
Astrowl box check quality of new frames compared to stack picture, and decide to keep it and add it to the stack or not.
This is especialy useful for planetary observations where frames can be of poor quality regarding seeing conditions.
I still need to test the functionality to see if it is correclty implemented and deliver expected results.
I will keep you in touch.
For those who have already received an Astrowl Box, I will shortly send you (after successful tests) an update to get this new features.
Feel free to contact me if you are interested to receive an Astrowl Box.

Quick night sessions in my light polluted suburbs and with some clouds, attached are a pictures of M13 and the hard to catch ghostly M94 with the Astrowl Box. Pictures catch are . M13 was taken with a 130mm apo refractor and M94 with a Taka Mewlon 180c.
M94 shows a clear nucleus with very faint and fussy arms due to poor sky quality and poor tracking, which limit stacking depth and exposure. With a good sky and autoguiding it will gi e very good results.

Hi @tgrlx200, I send you a PM to answer for the cost. You connect to the Astrow box through Wifi and using a browser to display user interface to change box settings, switching from Live to Stack View and taking snapshots of what you see on the screen.

Hi guys, I have worked to improve the frame alignment process which is really important to compensate guiding error.
Attached is a sample of Ring Nebula done yesterday with the Astrowl Box from the Stack View and with a nearly full moon not so far. The central star of the nebulae is faintly visible.
What you see is what the Astrowl box displays on the 4" screen with personal parameters from the Expert Mode.
Keep in mind that this box is a EAA tool not an astrophoto similar in any case to hours of snapshot and hours of post process.

Questions:
1. Does it work on non-tracking scope (of course with very short exposures and obvious limitations)
2. What are the sensor specs: pixel size, resolution, sensor size?
3. What is the weight of the device?
Very cool project! I was looking for something like at.
