IME, TEC has been very professional and honest.   Gabrielle even corrected me when I wanted to send

a larger deposit, that I should actually pay less.  My experience was the price when I ordered was the

same as when the scope was delivered.

Inflation is real, and but my strong belief is that if TEC raises prices, it would reflect their costs.

Then change the price now for the new people on the list so they can know what to expect.

I still don’t think that TEC would take a deposit at one price and then increase the price at the end and require the customer to pay the higher price as a condition of delivery.  I could be wrong.  But I hope you are wrong Matt.

That’s an unreasonable expectation. How can TEC predict the inflation rate, how much the cost of raw materials will rise, transportation of those materials, labor, business taxes, insurance, and all the other costs that go into manufacturing a scope like that, 18 to 24 months in advance?

How big of an increase are we talking here? Hopefully not like $2000, that is above my budget for a 140mm scope

Well, the last price increase in 2020 was $800 (12%).

A TEC140 is currently about $9,200 with all the accessories, plus shipping. What’s another $1,000 or so?

No, we’ll see if I can find a new TOA-130 before I get the notification from TEC.  If I can find one, then I will let the TEC140FL go to someone else.

You can certainly find a brand new TOA-130, if that's what you want. Great telescope!
