Hello,

I got a working Meade LS8 with Autostar III hand controller. The setup works good after software upgrade.

The problem I am facing is with the hand controller's LCD screen. It works but it got some sort of liquid leakage at the bottom row. Even though the characters are visible, I could see the liquid / oil residue. I cleaned the actual LCD screen inside the hand controller. But the issue seems to be within the LCD screen.

So, I thought to replace just the LCD screen. I dont find much of details about it. If any one know any information about this, please share it with me.

Thanks,

Shriganesh

Gday Shriganesh

A user a while ago found a drop in replacement screen made by Formike.

Several users have tried this and found it is very sensitive to the contrast circuit used

in the handsets.

Another user has recently been investigating this and i have been helping him

but of the 5 handsets ( 497, 497EP, Audiostar and 2 x ASIIs ) i tested

all give different values for contrast when the screen is fitted.

Sometimes, this results in the screen being invisible during booting

but it comes good later.

The user found a fix for his Hbx but it may not apply to all users.
