Hello fellow CN'ers.

We are pleased to announce a new hosting facility about to be completed in Australia at Swan Reach, South Australia (35 degrees south latitude).

The site is located within the River Murray International Dark Sky Reserve where the skies are a pristine 21.9. Our site in fact has skies of 21.98 every moonless night.

Seeing is also very stable most nights with averages of 1.4"-1.8". We are on a flat plain with prevailing winds coming from the south of the continent which allows laminar flows off the ocean some 140km away.

Over the last 10 months we have observed the night sky with an Allsky camera and found that a percentage of around 82% nights are clear or mostly clear. There is also very little moisture to produce dew or fog.

We anticipate that the hosting shed will be available at the end of June to accept clients after bug testing and completion of facilities.

If you are interested in having your equipment hosted in the Southern Hemisphere in dark and still skies please contact us on SwanReach5354@gmail.com for terms and conditions.

I have also left some images of the site for your interest. We are located on a 200 acre property well away from anyone.

We are pleased to announce that the operational trials for our hosting facility are now complete. The hosting observatory is fully automated to open at dusk and close at dawn. Weather abort involves the roof closing of its own accord and then reopening when the sky is clear. It will do this throughout the night without our intervention and is designed to protect all equipment in the observatory. Clients will have access to the same weather link so as to automate their equipment to start and restart with the roof system.

We enclose an image of how clients equipment will typically be setup in the observatory. The clients fee will include for equipment to be cable managed, a custom made pier and protective box to house their computer/12volt power transformer and IP Power Switch (which we supply).

Fees will be based on the foot print of your equipment and likely power usage. Internet, power costs and maintenance of clients equipment are included in the monthly fee.

Our facility is located at 34.5 degrees South and 139.5 degrees East. This means we provide a great overhead view of the centre of the Milky Way and all its objects as well as many southern objects not seen from the northern hemisphere. Our facility is located on the eastern side of the River Murray International Dark Sky Reserve. Our skies are near 21.98 (SQM) on moonless nights. We have around 79% of clear nights a year which provides plenty of opportunity for imaging the southern sky objects..

If you are interested receiving pricing including our terms and conditions (we have made a few changes based on feedback) please email as per above post or send a PM to me.

We look forward to receiving our first clients and you could be one of them.

Swan Reach Imaging is pleased to announce another system available for subscription or rent.

This system is an FSQ85 with ZWO2600MC with Optolong UV IR cut and Optolong L-extreme filters (we have since the attached image was taken added a filter wheel to house the filters.)

This type of imaging makes life very simple. You image in colour throught the UV IR filter and then with the L-extreme to produce detailed and easy RGB colour images or whichever target is visible in our night skies.

The attached image is an examples of what you can expect from this system.
Contact us via our email of swanreach5354@gmail dot com or via PM for subscription details.

We have some exciting news. From today our hosting fees at Swan Reach Imaging  will be $600  (Australian dollars) per month for the first year. That gets you loads of clear nights at around 79% per year (being in central State of Australia we are unaffected by the eastern sea board cloud cover), skies are very dark at 21.98 and seeing is generally very good. So if you were holding off on having your equipment hosted in the southern hemisphere because of pricing, then this is your opportunity to capitalise on this offer.

You can contact us via PM, email or on our FB page.

PS We are unaffected by the flooding that is occurring in the River Murray. Our site is 47 metres above the current flood height and well away from the River.

An exciting addition for subscription or rental is this 250mm Takahashi Mewlon with ZWO 2600MM and filters. The scope has a Moonlite rotator focuser to allow nice framing and choice of guide stars. The attached image was done by Jarrod Koh and shows the potential of this excellent scope. If you are interested in subscribing this scope with a group of 5 or more or just want to rent the scope please contact us via PM, or email of swanreach5354@gmail dot com (please the decimal in place of dot). Our rates are very affordable and the best in Australia.

It's been a busy time out at Swan Reach Imaging with a couple of clients moving their gear into the observatory but we just wanted to show you a preliminary image from an RC14 which is on site now. The resolution is fantastic of this often imaged target known as the Devil's Mask. I am really excited for the customer imaging prospects.

If you are wanting somewhere dark in the Southern Hemisphere to place your gear at an affordable price, why not drop us an email or a PM. We still have room for more equipment and want to share our skies with you.

Hello all,

we have been quite busy in the last year since our last post.

Things are always changing. We now offer private and commercial hosting. Private is still $600 (Australian) per month, and commercial is $800 (Australian) per month. Commercial is defined as selling data onward to others.

Our rental fees for our rentals is still $400 (Australian) per month except for our 16" RCOS which is $550 (Australian) per month. Our current rental list is as follows:

1 x Orion Optics UK AG12 with ZWO 6200MM with full set of filters (rented)

1 x Askar 180 with ZWO 2600MC (up for rent in November)

1 x 16" RCOS with ZWO 2600 MM and full set of filters (rented)

1 x Askar 200 with ZWO 6200 MC. (rented)

We are soon approaching renting another Orion Optics UK AG12 with a ZWO 553 and Optolong LRGB, Ha and O3 filters. This system running at 1x1 binning will be great for southern galaxies and planetary nebula.

With all our hosting and rental fees, we don't mind how many people are involved in your group. You just pay the flat rate for the rental or the hosting.

For further questions please email to swanreach5354@gmail dot com

For the next 3 months we are offering a new fee type for mini imaging systems. Any small refractor system (objective diameter under 90mm and focal length less than 450mm) mounted on an AM5 or similar mount can be hosted for $300 Australian dollars per month.

We supply all the power, all the internet, a custom pier and coms cables up to the scope. There is no setup fee and you don't pay until it is setup and ready to image.

You need to supply the pier adapter, the mount, scope, auto focuser, Pegusus type of hub, all cables for peripherals, 12v mini computer, guiding solution and camera.

Why not get the most out of your money and get to imaging on every clear night with remote imaging at Swan Reach Imaging.

If you want to know more contact us on swanreach5354@gmail dot com.

We have an RCOS16" coming up for rent in January. The system has a ZWO 2600MM on it with LRGB Ha O3 SII filters.

Rental is $550 Australian dollars a month. You have complete control of the scope and can image via NINA advanced sequencer. You will be provided with an advanced sequence that works in concert with our observatory roof system and AAG cloud watcher.

We provide a manual on how to use the scope and VPN access via radmin viewer.

The minimum rental period is 3 months. Rental can be extended beyond this period.

If you are interested in this system to rent please contact us on swanreach5354@gmail.com . You have to be quick, this scope is popular.

Hello, do you have a contact link with updated pricing for various rentals? When you say scope rental for 3 months, is it like you have access to the scope exclusively for 3 months or its limited access with specific hours?
