I have posted this on various other outside forums (so if you seen it before sorry)!

Okay this is something new.

I have had my asiair pro for a couple of years now, on my Ioptron cem25ec with a WO Z61ii, ZWO EAF, ZWO EFW, ASI2600MC pro with ASI120MC-S. Everything has worked and played well together until recently. I have the latest software update(s) for the ASI air pro installed on my iPad.

The other night, after going through the normal routine balancing, polar alignment, focusing, and guiding. After finding my target inside of the ASIair pro with the GoTo feature, it would never slew go to the target position. It would not even move (although the screen indicated that it was moving to the correct position and trying to center several different times). However, I was able to still control my mount through the 4 arrow key (under the preview screen) and asiair pro continued to recognize my ioptron CEM 25EC like always. I shut down rebooted restarted everything four times that night, before finally giving up! Any suggestions or anyone else having this problem, not slewing to the target via GOTO screen feature. Oh also, Yes, I have turn off the DST on the Hand Control too.

HELP I'm missing my favorite time of the season, especially, with this week with the new moon and clear skies!

Did you get this resolved?  If so, do tell...

Please share how you configure the guiding while in the EC guiding mode.

I have set up a User Defined Tracking @ 0.95x Sidereal (as a starting point).

With everything well balanced & level, will do:

  1.     a PA (will likely do a cross-check using PoleMaster & ASIAir PA), then
  2.     turn off RA guiding (select Filter RA Guiding) to allow the encoder to correct the tracking error,
  3.     slew to the object (plate solve), then
  4.     start the imaging session.

If using ASIAir application, how do you configure the Guiding tab and any guide camera settings.

My understanding is that dithering isn't possible when using the EC guiding - am I misinformed?

Clear skies...

Well...  I really don't know how to answer your question. I believe my problem was a cable which I have since replaced. But hasn't been able to test it because of bad winter weather. In regards to using my ASIair box. I really haven't change any configuration. Just used the standard configuration and it work for me.  I haven't changed the tracking speed either. You can do dithering it's under the "guide camera" section if I recall.

Sorry...

I'm hoping for "Clear skies..." soon or a larger boat for my equipment!
