What an interesting object and nice photo!  I actually knew Arthur (Art) Hoag but I never knew he discovered this object.  My father worked many years with Art at the U.S. Naval Observatory and again at Lowell Observatory.  Art was a very intelligent, down to Earth, and affable man.  Now I have something else to remember him by.  I've added it to my target list.  Thanks!

Did you have any trouble getting the Nexus to work with your telescope.   I have a similar 12 inch Orion telescope and I would like to use a Nexus.   I see that the Nexus requires 55 mm backspacing, but if I place a digital camera on my scope with 55 mm of backspacing I can’t run the focuser in quite enough I can only focus with a low profile t-ring that shaves off a few mm, or a mirrorless dslr that require less backspacing so I’m afraid the nexus may not work if it exactly requires that 55 mm works without it.

what was your experience?

I've tried with until 5mm error and it worked. Not so perfect but i had to zoom my zwo294 image to notice it. I have my mirror moved which is very easy to do and recommended but you may want to buy it to a good dealer and if you don't like the results you return it. The performance is so good that i think worth to try it.
