Would anyone know the maker, period for this mount?
Estate sale asking for mount/tripod for $175.
Thanks, Don

It looks like a Royal Astro/Astro Optical mount for their 6” Newtonian or 90mm refractor. With the tripod, the most likely origin is probably a a Sears 6345.

Yes it looks just like my Sears 6345 mount. Time to look for the scope, it must be there in a corner or in the garage.

It's a good mount and would a godsend to someone with the 6345 OTA but no mount. $175 for a working mount though? Likely not. BUT, you can flip it to the OTA owner and double your money.

Could be! Would be a shame to miss that!

Dwight, that 6345 has to be the scope that rode this mount. I looked for three days for the scope with no joy. The mount, tripod and weight set were all in different parts of the property. I only found two of the three white weights but I feel fortunate with what I was able to bring home.

Sorry that you could not find the scope. My bet is he took the scope with him. That is what I plan to do when I go. I think there is enough room for the ota.

nice find. welcome to the 2 out of 3 club.
i have a variation of that mount with my rao r73 but i am jealous of the motor drive. my r73 came with the scope in a box, and the mount in a box, but without the tripod legs. i believe there were three boxes originally.
i also have a unitron 142 ota and tripod legs. same deal. tripod legs in its box and ota in its box, but no mount box or mount.
2 out of 3 ain't bad.

Archaeologists in the distant future will unearth you and say - "Oh MAN! It's a 90mm RAO! This must have been some sort of king!"

Does the RA attach point for the slo-mo cable have a one- or two-sided shaft? Mine is one-sided. Have seen both.

The slow motion controls only have one-sided shafts on my mount.

We need to see a clear photo of it.
