Rho Ophiuchi cloud complex. Last year the smoke from the western fires really killed summer imaging. I jumped on this June 1, 2022 with my Askar 200 lens on a sony a7s. I ran out of time before I got a lot of exposure, but turned out ok. Stack 18-30 second subs using an STC LPR.. Will revisit and add to my data as well as go wider. Great shot, I have envy. That target is on my list but will have to wait for next year. I only get 2 hours per night and it only just touches 20' above the horizon so I am going to have to plan a multi night trip to a dark site and make sure that everything is running perfect to get this one. Or book a summer trip to Texas where the summer nights are long and Rho Ophiuchi gets higher in the sky.

Yes, I own 3 Sony A7s cameras. Two are modified and cooled from CentralDS. I used one of those for this image. I have a modified a7s3 for Halpha which is not cooled.

 

I used the STC Astro Multispectra for this image.
