In case you are wondering about the latest solar

images from SDO/HMI:

As of 12:20 PM EDT on 2022.06.22

 

I got this message from Dr. Charles Baldner: 

 

Unfortunately, no, no idea when we'll be back up. A fire near campus cut power to

the Stanford campus and we still don't know when we'll be able to start recovering

our systems.

Will continue posting this update until they get back on line.

 

Also be advised that spaceweatherlive.com is stuck at

2022.06.21_2045UT as regards sun spot info without

even mentioning it or the fire at Stanford University

which hosts SDO/HMI data.  Unbelievable.

From SDO website:

 

The power is still out at the Stanford University building that houses the AIA/HMI JSOC. AIA and HMI data will be unavailable until power is restored. This outage is apparently due to a wildfire near Palo Alo, CA, that brought down the main power lines into the area. The downlinked data is being stored at SDO's White Sands ground station. Once power is restored that data will be transmitted to the JSOC and made available for study.

Power Still Out at Stanford

The power is still out at the Stanford University building that houses the HMI JSOC.

HMI data will be unavailable until power is restored.

2022.06.25 (day 4) update:

 

There is power to the SDO/HMI JSOC and the

server has power but still no access for acquiring

data.  Spaceweatherlive.com is still stuck at

2022.06.21_2045UT as regards sun spot info.

I don't know if the JSOC folks are working on

the weekend.

Spaceweatherlive.com has finally notified users with this

message:

 

As some of you have noticed images coming from NASA SDO

have not been updating for 3 days now. This is caused by a power

blackout due to a wild fire near the Stanford University building

where these images are processed. We hope the situation resolves

itself swiftly.

Probably the JSOC will not get fully back on

line until after the weekend.

2022.06.25 (day 6) update:

 

Good News!  One can now

acquire past data from the

JSOC but the newest latest

data is 2022.06.21_2059 UT.

(Remember they were stuck

at 2022.06.21_2045UT).

So I suspect that they will

get everything working today.

They have to get all the missed

data from White Sands.
