Hey, best of luck. It seems that there is an issue with your scope. If you're not enjoying using it then what do you have to lose.


The issue may very well be a user issue. I've had it under the night sky a total of 2 hours. My eyesight is bad, and seeing here is notoriously unfavorable, so collimating is like asking a color blind person to differentiate between two slight shades of red. Yeah, I'm a winner... Lol

Just keep looking through the other end of the telescope and you'll be fine.

Advice that applies similarly to investment decisions during a downturn and interpreting flashlight inspections of SCT’s:  

 

Don’t just do something, stand there.
