At that price it would be worth giving it a new paint make over.

Agreed.  There is an old thread that provides info on the exact match spray paint that is available off the shelf.

When this scope was first posted a couple weeks ago, it prompted me to get my Alcor out...first time in an year or two.  I have used it every night since and it is an amazing performer.  I can wait to gift it to one of my grand kids some day.

TAL-Alcor on FB in Maryland $125. Supposedly unopened. Beware the paint-eating foam!

An Alcor really should be used as a guide scope on a Mizar smile.gif

So, would that be a Mizar Alcor or an Alcor Mizar?

I literally want to cry, no shipping. :-( Anyone here in NJ and willing to pick this up and ship it to me? I know, a long shot, but I had to ask just in case.

I’m intrigued by this one. I can’t remember this “white” Celestron from the old ads. Black… sure, Orange, yep. But not this white model. Anyone know the details?

i think it is a cr150 f8.  he is also selling an early cg5 mount separately on a weird hybrid pier/tripod mount that i have not seen before.  you can see the regular tripod base separately in the photo so perhaps it is cusom made.

here is a cr150 in black.

Mizar fans will want to take a look at this one on Zen:  MIZAR Mizar astronomical telescope AR-130S L type body / GT-68 type / equatorial mount.   Complete system with lambda/20 optics, looks like all the bells and whistles are included.  Plus it's orange!  Super cool.

Very Tempting!  FYI:  ZEN also has an Astro Optical 100mm F6 Lambda (1/20th wave) rig for sale...

I had a gut feeling, and I should have listened. It's not an Ultima 11 but a "Classic C8". Scope is actually mint and comes will all the stock accessories including the odd AC cord. But it definitely went from a great deal to market price. I'll clean it up, collimate and sell it for what I bought it for.
