Hello All !

                 I am strongly wanting to buy this OTA only Eikow.  D = 60mm / f.l = 900mm. I unfortunately cannot see it in person, and will just have to trust the pics, and the seller ( who it seems to not be inclined to telescopes).

 

                Given that, i will of course clean up the object lens. Can i safely assume that this has a Cemented objective lens ? Sorry, i know nothing about Eikows...Thank You !

 I have an Eikow 60x910 f15 refractor. Mine is an air-spaced doublet with three foil spacers - it has a quite nice objective. In fact, I was just using it tonight to view the 3-day old moon. Good luck with your acquisition, I think you'll find the optical quality very good.

            Thanks for your response and encouraging words.  I will likely  adapt it first to a super polaris mount i have kept. I am excited, since the last time i looked through a  long focus 60mm was thirtysix years ago !

That should go great with the Vixen SP mount. I presume this focuser is for .965" eyepieces (mine was)? One thing I do recommend in that case is to order a Vixen adapter will allow you to use 1.25" diagonal and oculars. I don't have the part number handy at the moment, I'll see if I can find it.

It would be safer to assume it's an air spaced objective that uses a ring spacer. Most likely a Towa made scope. Also by the looks of the focuser it will not accept a Vixen 1.25" visual back.

      But it didnt push through, only because the seller was located at an area where he only has access to a single courier who does not accept the size (length) of the ota box... so much for my excitement...
