Today a new 'kid in the block' arrived. A HOC T-8 in nice condition. I think it is one of few that came to Europe; it's the first that I've seen anyway.
Yokohama Custom's 'opened, inspected and sealed' it on Feb. 28, 1959.
But it's 6-digit serial, 054557, suggest it to be a 1960 scope.

The T-8 is a very rare scope.  The optics should be quite good and the eq mount is a lot of fun to use.  Congratulations on a great find.

Some more pics of this gorgeous little scope. It holds the infamous 'Terrestrial Eyepiece', but I still have to discover it's wonders (no high hopes though). There has be some hassle with the placing of the spacers, but this forum gave me great advice on that and now Newton rings look perfect. Will check on the real starry heavens soon.

Thanks Charlie. I bought it hands down after just seen one picture, and thought it was a T-6C. After receiving it, this forum was such an great asset identifying it as a T-8.....

Btw it was 50€...

The OTA of the T-6C is the same as the T-8.  The mount is a geared alt-az mount.  Here's the T-6C next to the T-8.
