Hello

I'm considering the purchase of an used G11 equipped with Gemini V1.4 .

Can I upgrade it to Gemini V2 without changing the motors ?

I would assume "of course ! "  but I better be safe than sorry ...

Thanks

You might also try asking at the Losmandy groups.io site (https://groups.io/g/...dy_users/topics).

Usually yes, but there is also an "It depends"

The very early G1 boards used RJ-type telephone jacks on both the board and the motors.  That shortly changed to the boards & motors with the 7-pin DIN connectors (I think it's 7).

If the motors have the round connectors, then you just need the G2 control box & handbox.  If it has the older RJ-type connectors, you will need special cables to connect the G2 to the motors.  The motors themselves are the same, it's just the socket that changed.  Current availability of those cables is unknown to me.

You can't tell this from the firmware version as all the G1 boards could be upgraded to 1.4 by replacing the EPROM inside.

You can see the different versions of the board here:
