Dear observers, again low and slightly unsteady moon, and not much time for sketching, until La Lune disappeared.

 

This time I sketched with charcoal. With this, it is easier getting nice shadows of gray. But it is much harder preserving sharp contours. It helps to sketch slightly larger.

 

I used my 4 inch refractor for that, magnification was 123x. I tried give some impression of the exterior  too, which I found interesting.

This is an excellent close in sketch of Thebit. Your charcoal really looks nice. 

I have used it but I have a tendency to make a mess and get charcoal dust

and fingerprints on everything.

thanks for showing this sketch of Thebit - normally the straight wall is the main topic of sketches of this lunar area. Now Thebit got its spin off
