Saw this advertised on Facebook.  $400.  Too good to be true?

Gee that’s too bad.  I was skeptical of its quality but I hate to see someone who’s trying to bring cool things to the masses fail.

Update: I think the link just wasn’t working.

Their link is back up and working.

They get the target audience for sure with the price point ($829) with early signup saving $330 so $499.
Considering it uses just a standard 127mm Mak and 50mm finder there's no need to reinvent the optics and it can be visual and imaging.

I posted the link again and it seems to be working, at least right now.

Now I see it.

That looks much better deal than Stellina (etc).

Could be even good for beginners.

The downside that I saw on the website... it's a China based company selling this and they're using a European guy to market it.  I don't care who makes it, but at least be honest who you are.  It also explains why the price point is sub $1000.

F15?  That is 3x EVScope.  The field of view is very small .15 deg….unless you can add a reducer. And it doesn’t seem to have a field rotator which means with this small FOV and slow f ratio, a lot of the image capture will need to be cropped.  So smaller effective FOV.

Kudos for having a 50mm finder!  I guess this can be used for wider field imaging?

No field rotator? The price is also different compared to EVScope.
And 50mm finder was used also for imaging.

Rotator was used only as framing device by Vaonis not to increase exposure time.

The FOV specs are on the homepage.

It’s a start, if it takes off and larger sensors follow I would expect it to do well !

I don't think you should use it for imaging. But it is really a cheap option if you want a fully automatic telescope. Think about how much you will pay for a Celestron 5se plus StarSense plus a camera.

If a future model supports the usual protocols for GOTO mounts you could mix & match with your choice of scope and have a modest rig that does the job without half the gear many are using now.

This was the issue most didn’t like about the Stellina.

The FOV specs are on the homepage.

This question was asked already and Vaonis response was the derotator serves 3 purposes:

rotate the field as you are taking  subs so the individual sub does not itself suffer from field rotation during longer exposures

rotate between subs so that you don't reduce field-of-view after registration and stacking.

rotate before starting imaging to a desired orientation.

It does look interesting since you can swap the camera between the finder (to look at nebula) or the F15 Mak-Cass to look at planets (or moon up-close). Or even use eyepiece. Those that get the Vaonis or Unistellar offerings need a second scope for planets. At least this would be a single offering “that could do it all”. Of course, the big question is how well it does things. The only video of actually using the thing was with observing the moon. I wasn’t all that impressed with that video. Anybody could do that with the moon in just about any telescope. I would be more interested in seeing what it could do with observing Saturn or Jupiter with the larger scope or some nebula with the finder-scope.

FYI, the Mirrosky crowdfunding campaign is now delivering product. Got mine yesterday. Of course, as a new telescope, it also arrived with several days of clouds.
Once I've used it/gotten some first light, I'll start a new thread with my experiences.

Can you share your initial impressions on build quality and maybe share some pics?
