It's probably what we commonly call an old Towa but could be a later 12TE Look a Like.

Any of the numerous brands like Lafayette, SPI, etc. were actually a Towa AT2 or ET1 which all had a 800mm objective.

The first few in this link were Monolux

I'm sure this doesn't help as it's overpriced but here's one from 1956; https://www.ebay.com/itm/205373429671

To K5apl in Arkansas: I have an old locking pin that might work, but it is from a vintage SPI telescope. It also looks to be a little bit longer than the one that you have pictured. Don't know if you've already gotten a replacement? Free if you want it.

800mm seems an oddball size. The scope is branded Monolux. This was a gift from our friend DMALA who passed a few years back. My hope is to gift it to a neighbors child.

I would be willing to cut it down.

Russ

I just remembered that there's a 60/800 objective that's been on ebay for a while from a seller who's been parting a Selsi.

He has it mistakenly listed as a 30/800.

Looks like a cotter pin from an old-style bicycle crank

DouglasPaul has offered a Mizar objective for practically nothing that I will use to get the old Monolux back under the stars.
Thank you all for your help.
DouglasPaul, I look forward to hearing from you in a few weeks.

Not a bicycle cotter pin, since it is from my box of odd telescope parts. However, it has already been spoken for by the Monolux telescope owner.

The technical term is "bat" :) They are the hardest things to find!

I just discovered these other three "bats" from my box of spare telescope parts. A matching locking pin has damaged threads, but the one shown before looks intact. The requestor can have all of them for free.

True, a cotter pin has one flat side.
