One of my planetary observing mentors, George R. referred me to this site so I take no credit for it and I know it's been mentioned here on CN before but just to make sure, here it is. It may not predict marine layer if some have to deal with that, but as far as "seeing" is concerned, it's been absolutely amazing and very accurate for seeing predictions.

I've been using it for a while and agree that it's good for seeing estimates.

I do find that it is frequently pessimistic on marine layer, and often find that I'm good to view when it says no go.

Looking at the seeing values down the coast also make me jealous!

Thanks Daniel.  waytogo.gif

I don't have to contend with a marine layer here in SW Ohio.  I'll keep this site marked for future use.  It would have been fun to "calibrate" the predictions against the bouts of exceptional seeing we had around here last week.

I dont know about you guys, but i'll usually reach out to a few people when we have exceptional seeing.  A seeing alert app for serious planet observers would be nice.  Trouble is, there arent many of us or it seems that way sometimes.
