Tom,

Welcome back. I had wondered where you’d been.

There’s nothing preventing you from listing them here and on AM. And I know that their “as new” condition will generate boundless inquiries.

But I’m going to try to persuade you to change your mind and be willing to ship. Shipping is also increasingly expensive. But I’d strongly recommend that you select a reputable box company or shipping company local to you and plan to triple box them like Takahashi does.

I’m certain that this effort now will produce a net cash benefit to you now now and will inform you of this same option if you choose to sell others in the future. And they will all sell VERY quickly.

Good luck,

Tom

You can require a local pickup only, but as you realize the potential buyers will be far more limited and your time to sell much longer.

Sell the smaller ones, FSQ-85s, FOA60s, FC100DC. They are easy to pack up and wrap yards of bubblewrap and anything else around.

Don't know what i would do with 13 Taks. But if they were local i would be tempted to try a few out. Shipping just turns me off with the risk and added cost.

Be willing to travel to your states border and you increase the number of potential buyers. You may be able to get the price you paid due to recent price hike!!

I would need a bigger boat for 13 scopes.

I think having 13 Taks can be safely filed under, "Problems I'd Like To Have".

In all honesty, why just sell three or four?  Heck, even if you sold TEN, how many people even have THREE Taks?

Clear Skies,

Phil

Do you want advice or permission?  Want to sell 13 or 3 or 4?  At 75% of current price there is no

doubt you can sell them all, on your terms.

In your situation I would hold out for a local sale, but that is just me.

You do not care which ones you sell?  Seriously?

Prepare for a strong case of sellers remorse.

Best of luck with your sales!

Wish I lived in an adjoining state, I would be happy to make the drive.

Cheers,

Ron

But, since I live in Nebraska there are not many potential buyers near here.

How about "since I live in Nebraska I am within driving distance of just about the whole country"?

Just curious, do you collect telescopes like people collect coins? Test to make sure they work and then put them in your filtered room never to see starlight again?

Yes - exactly.

A longgggggg drive in many instances.

Longgggggg is relative and proportional to desire. Post and the people will come.

I travel to NE every month.  I might be interested in picking up one if it is the right one.....depending on what you are selling.

I´ll be in Minnesota next month.  6-1/2 hour drive?  For a Tak, probably would do it.

When I sold my A-P Traveler I had it double boxed by a professional shipper and sent half way across the country.  My buyer said it could have been dropped from the top of his workplace and survived no problem.  Shipping done properly is a bit costly but worth it.

I'm locking the thread. I think that the OP has received lots of useful advice but it's veering off topic.
