The Mayflower 814 has a new owner.
Thanks to all y'all who responded; and rest assured, it's going to a good home.

Cleaning out my photography stuff from the 1970s. Found this Asahi Pentax right-angle viewfinder attachment and thought someone more inventive than I could use this for an astronomy project. The long part rotates 360 degrees against the short part that attaches to the camera, see second photo. The eyepiece (not removable) rotates for focus. Estimate $5 shipping.
Gone to a good home.

Free but pick up only! R/A & Dec complete from a 12.5" Cave Astrola. Someone already has the pier and last I knew the scope is mounted in place of the Yale Bright Star Catalog camera at Yales Bethany obs. which I believe is now closed. My frind Dave J. was the caretaker for many years and he wanted the mount gone. So no pier, scope , rings motor, or tangent arm. I need it gone as I'm tired of moving it around when it gets in the way. Could drop at Stellafane?

Hi everyone!
For only a $5.00 shipping fee to locations with the CONUS, I am offering to give away this nice Parks 25mm Kellner. Beautiful coatings and Made in Japan.
BUT, there appears to be a very tiny clam on one side of the eye lens that should not impact use for the most part.
First, to PM gets it for the $5.00 shipping fee within the CONUS!
Thanks,
Mel

Focuser from a 3" Tower (Royal Astro). Works well, if worn. Chrome is a bit worn and pitted. Inner sliding drawtube not included BUT the good news is that it accepts a Vixen 1.25" thread-on eyepiece holder. Use it as replacement parts or build a scope around it. You could make one of the sink-drain or stock aluminum tubing sliders that have been featured in this forum, if needed. But with the Vixen adapter, it would be ready to use.
Free for just the cost of shipping, US & Canada only please. PM me.

One guy is kicking the tires and two more are in line for the Tower focuser, so no more PM's please. Thanks!

Just checking to see if he really needed it. He didn't, and wanted it to go to someone who really did need it. Gone now. Thanks!

I snoozed and I lost! I've been searching for one of those for over a year. If you find another one in your efforts to clean up and down-size, I will happily pay. It can be the version for the 60mm telescope, without the 76mm adapter ring.

I'll check this weekend, and let you know via PM if successful.

Celestron COMETRON 16 page booklet, original with sleeve, essentially new booklet.
I have no Celestron Cometron scopes. This is dedicated to the Cometron series and covers pretty
much everything.
Disclosure: You must be a fan of Cometron, actually own Cometron, intend to keep your Cometron, and enjoy the
opportunity to help complete a Cometron set for posterity. You must show me some proof, be a regular in the forum,
have pictures posted and string entries on your Cometron, have other forum regulars support you, send notarized statement of intent in triplicate
backed by a rich and famous person, and add maybe a buck for the manila envelope that I'm getting low on, and USA only, no international, no completing a nice set
with known intent to sell anything close to 'soon', and so on.
On a serious note, I will discern to some comfort degree as this is a great booklet for the posterity set up, and may Karma do to what might sneak by.....

For anyone who is SERIOUS about doing DPAC but are unsure how to create the electronics/Ronchi Screen/LED apparatus, I will send you mine. All you need are 2 "D" batteries and a Flat. So if you've been hesitating about DPAC, here's your chance.

this Meade mirror is in pretty rough shape. Has a big chip and marks on the mirror as you can see in the pictures posted.
If no takers going to the dump next week. Though some one could use it for some odd project.
Of coarse you pay for shipping only.
!2.5" , 1.5" thick.

I can't use it but a glass pusher probably could, maybe cut a 10".
The thing is it's probably Pyrex and I know Swayze had a re-melt pile
at one time, think he still has that huge shatter job. Hate to see it go to waste.
Masked and recoated that's an excellent 10" f/6 mirror likely. I wish I had time to make a scope around it.

Mask the chip, recoat, usable as is, I'm not an atm, but I'm sure there are a few here.
Posted 12 March 2018 - 09:11 AM
I'm not an atm either but I would be interested in getting it recoated and masked. Then when I have time make a scope around it.
