what alignment procedure would you consider to be the best for the 6-8" se mount. thanks, don

Two star is the best for me. Alt-Az as well as on the wedge. I marked my terrace so the tripod goes in the same place every time, stays level.

Make sure you use a smaller eyepiece - recommended is 9mm or something like that.

Auto two-star.  Good tips above also, in particular if using StarSense.

Skyalign, first item in the manual. Uses any three stars.

 

Never used anything else and it has always worked perfectly for me :
