Does anyone know how the time and date dials on the polar scope on a Star Adventurer 2i work?

Why does the date dial rotate independently of anything else? What good is that?

What are the E20 to 0 to W20 marking for on the date dial for?

How do I calibrate/use the collar with the white line and the one locking screw?

Can I use these dials to PA without a phone app? If not, what are they for?

What I am NOT asking:

I don't need to know how to PA using a Phone app, I can do that.

How to calibrate the axis using the 3 screws, I can do that too.

This may be an arcane topic. I am just curious.

Thanks,

Patrick
