I am looking for a good lens that's a max of 300$s-ish (would prefer if it was about 250$s).
I have a Nikon D5300 (DX format camera/1.5x crop factor) and already have the standard 18-55mm kit lens. I recently had a good run at the Orion Nebula( https://www.cloudyni...-do/?p=12327921 ) and was impressed with what I was able to do with the lens I already have. I had to crop out the rest of the image due to some weird artifacts(and there was nothing interesting) and the stars were looking bloated since I cropped it. I have seen a few videos by Nebula Photos where he uses a rokinon/samyang 85/135mm lens but he always uses them with a full frame sensor so that there's no distortion. Here's a list of a few lenses I have considered -
Edit: I do not own a star tracker and am saving up for one but would like to continue without one thought there are a few hurdles.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
