 I wonder if there is a company out there that sells out-of-production EP's

I have been trying for a long time to find another pre-1990 Japan Meade 2" 56mm Super Plossl to make a pair for binoviewing.

The later Taiwan & China versions are easy to find but not the earlier Japan design, or so it seems.

Any ideas ?

Yes i've been looking there but all i've seen is the newer Taiwan & China ones. those are a different EP..

Yes on the 40mm/68,but i have one 56 so hoping to make a pair

I do own a Meade super plossl 2 inch 56mm eyepiece, but it is a relatively recent purchase (5-6 years) and is made in China. Looks quite different from your eyepiece in the photo.

 

Maybe you just get two of these that are easy to find.

Yes, I have tried one of the newer China ones.  It is not the same optical design/build.  I'll be kind and just say it lost something in the translation
