This winter I plan to check out observing possibilities of Rt 9, Maine between Beddington and Welsey. Light pollution map shows this area as "very dark sky" (at least by New England standards). Using google maps I found few pull outs and few parking lots in this area. The question is, are those spots being cleared of snow in the winter? Anyone observed in this area in winter? Any help/info will be appreciated.
Rt 112 in New Hampshire is my usual observing site. There, some parking lots do get cleared of snow in winter, some don't. However, slowly but surely the light pollution is creeping on Rt 112 so I will have to look for alternatives.
