Last March I imaged NGC 2174 in Orion. I used a Canon 600mm f4 lens on a modded Canon 60D and only got a 49 minute exposure (not nearly long enough). At the time I did a quick processing and couldn't figure out how the nebula got its strange name. I've been re-processing some images from last year and gave this one a second try. To see anything that looks like a monkey's head I had to rotate the image 90 degrees right. Fiddling with the color balance and intensity will drive you bananas. But I'm starting to see a monkey head in it and think I need to go back and get more time on this with a telescope.

It's always reminded me of Cornelius from Planet of the Apes.

I still can't see it...and I'm having a hard time processing since the object is brighter than I expected.
