Hi,
I'm new to Cloudy Nights and I don't know if I'm starting a new topic or reviving an old one, but my search didn't give anything on Cloudy Nights. So here is my question:
I have a Celestron Mak 127SLT with Nexstar+ hand controller and I just bought a Celestron focuser motor model no.94155-A. I'm figuring out a way to fit it on the scope and it will fit.
I then downloaded the last firmware version for the SLT.
I tried 2 ways to control the motor: USB port on the focuser to the miniPC, and AUX port from the focuser to AUX port on the scope for controlling it with the hand controller.
It works with the USB connection to the PC, but when I'm trying to control it via the hand controller, I get an error 16 and 17 message on the controller as the program is looking for the GPS model when starting the scope.
If I disconnect the focuser and try it, it does start as Nexstar SLT. So I'm running it with the Ascom driver or the Celestron focuser software from a USB connection but would like to run it from the scope AUX port.
I tried to figure it out but didn't find info on this problem. It seems to be coming from the focuser driver but I followed the instructions and redid it again with the same result.
Any idea of what could cause the controller to try to connect to the GPS model instead of the SLT? Anybody ever tried to fit and connect a Celestron focuser to an SLT scope before?
Thank's!
And clear skies!
