SS5 Pro has always connected to both scopes I own with two NEXUS DSC units. I used an iPad Air2 and currently iPad Air4.

In the past I clicked on the show Comets, likely for Neowise and a few comets appeared and I turned it off. In looking for the Green Comet back in late December, I turned comets on and it looked like a million names popped up in green and no matter what, I couldn’t turn them off. It was so distracting SkySafari was not useful.

So, I removed SS5 Pro from iPad, and then downloaded it from the Cloud… I copied settings, etc and as far as I can tell, all settings are as they were yet SS5 Pro will not connect to iPad. I get the cannot connect check WiFi network, etc.

Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions…

== Thanks == Mark

Note: Main Settings: LX - 200 Classic, Alt-Az Push To, IP 10.0.0.1, Port 4060, Readout 10/ sec

Try changing the wifi channel in the Nexus DSC under wifi setting. I think they range from 1 to 9.

A thought, probably wrong, but it might be worth looking at the Local Network Access settings in the Security settings on the iPad just to check that SS5 Pro is still enabled - maybe an update cleared the settings?

Thanks to you both for responding… I posted this in the Night Vision forum as many over there use the nexus…

My summary was that my cellular data ran out and ATT would not allow me to purchase any 4G / LTE since they are moving to 5G. I did get that straightened out and the iPad connected. So, cellular data on = Nexus always connected via Wi-Fi to iPad. No Service with cellular and no connection. One guy (phonehome) responded in the other forum with this:

I didn't reply in time but was going to mention that some inactivated SIM cards from certain carriers will also block WiFi access which may be due to a related feature - WiFi Calling being disabled until cellular activation.
