Got my ticket

Thanks for the link! Registered.

Purchased! Looking forward to another fun time.

Me too. And two tickets. Both in my name. In case my friends can't make it, I'll have a spare. Two friends, but they'll have to flip for it. But they are both pending work schedules. So there is a chance neither will be able to make it. In that case, I'll toss the extra one up for grabs with plenty of time.

I got mine too. 2 tickets for wife and friends if they can make it.

Registered! Me and my wife. Now it really feels like spring.

Just to let you know, there was an issue with ordering kids tickets. Should be fixed now.

As an update - if you want to attend you may not want to wait long to register - we are already 65% full just 8 hours after opening registration.

New to the fold but how often does Cherry Springs have Star Parties? I can't make this one.
Thanks

There are two Star Parties held at Cherry Springs State Park each year - the Cherry Springs Star Party in Spring (usually June) hosted by the Astronomical Society of Harrisburg and the Black Forest Star Party in Fall (usually September) hosted by the Central PA Observers group.

....and I'm registered!
Plus I have a Galaxy Pass for this year - so I could come early or stay late if that makes sense weatherwise.
Hope to see ya all there!
Here's a "Milky Way Shot" from last year (on Flickr): https://www.flickr.c...77720299690550/

Oh wow what a shot of the Milky Way! Yes this will be something to look forward to.

Got a notice that I had my ticket. Clicked to view my ticket and a "verify my email" page appears, from some third party site, with my old gmail address displayed. I clicked that and nothing further happens. I dumped gmail some time ago.

If you had logged into Eventbrite previously with a different email, it probably remembered you. You can DM me for assistance.
There should have been a pdf attached to the email, which is your copy of the ticket.

Is it sold out -- or not? I see an announcement on FaceBook that is is sold out -- but the registration site seems to still be open.
If it is sold out - I think a number of my friends will be disappointed - but it was their decision to "wait for a while". Attendence by the club I ususally go with may be slim to 'just me'

Tickets are sold out. You can still join the waitlist.

THAT was fast!! Guess I might be the only one from Kopernik Astro Society - there were maybe 20 last year, but many didn't even know registration was open -- or maybe they got in at the last moment.
I'm hoping for clear skies - and winning raffle tickets!!

Wow. I was going to wait and think on it, but figured I might as well grab a ticket early. I better schedule that PTO!

I was planning on going this year but all the tickets are already sold out! This is a nice event and I will miss going. Not sure if I want to go on the waitlist or not. Being notified that there is an opening at the last minute might not work out for me.

I got on the wait list last year and was able to get a ticket with plenty of time to spare. I also bought a guest ticket on the Classifieds here right before the event.

Simply curious, how many tickets were available initially? Attendance limit is?

Dan,
Thanks for the information. I signed up on the waitlist.

I believe the limit is around 435 - 450. A number of years ago at BFSP, there were over 530 and it was way too many. They spilled over into the small field by the vendor tents and overwhelmed the facilities. Some were packed in like sardines. Plus now with the defined lanes, only so many can comfortably fit and actually have room to enjoy. Not to mention the need to have "emergency" routes just in case.

And add to that - on a very 'damp' year, like 2019 -- sections of the field can become too muddy to use - forcing everyone to squeeze in on the remaining area. Many folks who had been there the entire week left on Saturday or Sunday morning - Sunday night was endless thunderstorms -- but Mon/Tue nights were clear, with only a few of us left - but it frosted up around 1:30 AM both nights (in June!!) and my tent was encased in ice both mornings. Still - some 'glorious' observing. Last year was good too - but many red lights and covered screens there in "imagers village".
When 'all weekers' leave earky, that leaves better chances at winning the raffle - I *still* won --- nothing..... as usual.
