I have spent the last week+ trying to get my AsiAir Plus to provide power to, well anything,

At first I thought it was the power supply to the AA+ so I ordered a new one which arrived yesterday (12V 5amp the one recommended by the vendor - do I need more amps in???).

If I connect the power to the AA+ and then connect a supplied power cable from the AA+ box, to the camera (ZWO 6200mm) or to the mount or whatever and then turn on the power to the AA+ whatever I have it connected to powers on UNTIL the wifi kicks in and the AA+ beeps and then I loose power to anything connected.

I'm trying to keep it simple and ONLY connecting say the camera, nothing else. Turn Power on, fan turns on, AA+ beeps, no fan, no registering its existence in the app.

If I take that power supply, or the old one and connect it directly to say the mount or camera it works fine

If I supply power to the AA+ and separate power to the mount and/or to the camera, AA+ along with now connected Guide camera, EAF, EFW, ect run just fine.

What the heck is going on? I have tried everything I can think of but for me the AA+ beep means everything dies.

That 6200 camera needs its own dedicated power supply.

ASAir states in its manual that it can't provide enough power for the cooled cameras AND run everything else.

Good luck.

OK - I some how missed that, blind eyes (literally the past almost 3 weeks thanks to a form of encephalitis) and puny print on the printed materials.

So just go ahead, power mount (ZWO AM5) with supply

Connect AA+ power from the mount

Connect separate power to 6200mm

Everything else 'should be' grand???

When I had my cooled ZWO, I powered the mount and ASAir from a Talentcell Li-ion battery (it has separate 12v and 5V USB outputs), and powered the camera with 12v from a separate Talentcell.  The camera still has to be attached to the ASAir USB for data output.  Good luck.

I am copying this from the ZWO support forum, as it helped me understand the requirements to power my ASI6200MM through the AAP:

"ASIAIR PRO's USB power supply is not enough for ASI6200/ASI2600/ASI533//ASI071MC cameras to work normally, so please use an external 12V power supply, which can be connected to the ASIAIR PRO's power management as well."

As per the above, I am running the dedicated 12V power supply from the mains/battery into the AAP (input plug next to on/off switch) and from there via one of the four 12V outlets to the camera. Works well, also powering the guide cam, EAF, EFW, mount and heaters through the AAP.
