I am experiencing backlash when using the slo-mo cables for the Rowan AZ 100. Can anyone suggest why this is happening?
This is an outstanding mount but I am not comfortable fixing small mechanical problems. If no one else has this trouble I will contact Derek at Rowan to ask for assistance

Try the damping adjusters. They are not the friction controls, they are the smaller knobs one on each side of the mount a pair each for altitude and azimuth. Turn them each time only slightly as you adjust them. I would try that before trying to adjust the worm gears, I had the same issue then discovered those dampers which solved the problem for me.

You can adjust the slow motion control and backlash by adjusting screws that are marked (A) I believe in the Rowan AZ100 instructions online.

If everything else fails, read the instructions. That's the way I do it. smile.gif

Thanks for the suggestions. I am gradually solving the issue because of your help.
