I think AR was a surprise winner. Mostly clear skies and light crowds. We considered pivoting there on April 5 but uncertainty was high. Hindsight is 20-20 and that is where I would have gone with a high probability weather forecast.

We experienced totality at our rented lake house near Greers Ferry Lake in Arkansas. Thin high clouds early in the day, but by eclipse time it was completely clear. Glorious.
We really enjoyed Arkansas and its lovely hospitable people.
