It took another 10 days but finally an evening last night with better than average seeing conditions soon after sundown to make my Venus imaging session worthwhile. The IR again is featureless, showing a bright limb arc that gets accentuated from leaning on the wavelets in Registax in an effort to see if any details are there. The UV, again without the Barlow, has a bit of a bright limb arc as well but also reveals gentle swirls in the illuminated half of the planet. The cusp caps – especially the southern one – seem a bit diminished in this capture compared to a week ago.
