More clear skies so more Venus!

This will be the last mono UV with my old qhy5-ll as the 462 mono has arrived today.smile.gif

Excellent. You have certainly worked out a very worthwhile method to show detail in the Venusian atmosphere.

Nicely done! Beyond the fine detail you've captured, I can also tell through your color palette how caustic those clouds are.

I love these types of images! I am still confused as to how they are made lol! I want to try to create one one day using my color camera with a near ir and near uv filter. They look beautiful!

Thanks Paul. The false colour certainly enhances contrast and textures over the mono UV. Unfortunately I can still see some onion ring artifacts from using frequency domain filter to remove noise.

Sometimes this happens and I'm wondering if the daylight is making it more difficult to avoid without leaving too much noise in place. I may try combining more captures to reduce noise.

Certainly hoping the new 462 mono will make life a lot easier in that regard with far more frames to play with at much lower gain.. Imaging at 15fps and 90% gain is not much fun.

Thanks! Mono cams are best for UV. My colour cam is not producing much detail on Venus recently though there was some nice subtle detail in RGB a while ago.
