I was out setting up my solar kit when a neighbor saw me and came by with questions. I talked him through the set up and the OTA while I fiddled with everything. Once up and aligned I let him have some EP time. He got very excited and wanted to take some pix with his phone. Sure why not. They're crappy pix and that may explain what showed up. Check it out.

Pic 1 shows an unknown object at about the 7oclock mark. Pic 2 shows the object either split in two or there is some kind of lensing going on.

So, what do you all think?

I'm guessing its a reflection of the camera in the eyepiece.

It looks like it might be The Doctor and The Master dueling it out in the sun's corona.

It looks like an artifact.
