WD-17S has good compatibility with ZWO ASIAIR, as most astronomy enthusiasts now use ASIAIR boxes

Has it been tested with N.I.N.A, any experiences? Ascom drivers?

Interesting mount.

Interesting mount.

The user of the triple matrix you saw is now using NINA to control the operation of three cameras

ASCOM driver

Perfect compatibility

Hi Robert!

I'm very interested in WD-17S so far as much as I gathered the information. However, the information is very limited mainly gathered from AliExpress. I'm just considering an equatorial mount in this moment and thinking AM5, AM3 or RST-135. Then, I accidently found this product today.

WD-17S looks like RST-135E very much technically and functionally as far as I researched today, but much cheaper. Do I understand the characteristic correct? If WD-17S would be almost RST-135E, I should not only get it but also be a official partner of the company in Japan, shouldn't I?

I found the purchasing site in AliExpress and also founf an extention pillar here. I wonder if this pillar is an original one of WarpDrive or not. The tri-pod with the mount seems from ZWO. Do they have any other optional parts such as counter weight and the rod for it.

hello

Based on our and some users of  testing results

Without the use of a guiding star scope, rst-135e has better blind tracking accuracy than WD-17S,

When using the guiding star scope, WD-17S and rst-135e are on par. According to theory, the WD-17S may have more advantages (direct drive, no secondary reduction (synchronous belt or planetary reducer))

Yes, this extended pier is an original one of WarpDrive, and the tripod is ZWO TC40

Recommended weight: 2-3kg

The installation thread of the heavy hammer rod is M12

I hope it is useful for anyone that is interested in this mount. I have not tested the guiding performance yet.

I am turning 60 in a few days and I was looking at getting an AM5, however I am really interested in this mount.
I currently run everything through miny PC's and Nina. As I understand it with the counterweight it can hold up to 20kg's which is about 44 pounds.
This might be a solution to remount an old starfinder 10 and my LX200 if I decide to defork it. Is there a way to mount it to a Meade standard field tripod? What is the current delivery time to the US?

If you can access a machine shop, you can use the AM5 drawing to order an adapter. Several online machine shops can make one. For example, https://www.pierplates.com/

Please take a look at https://www.cloudyni...ns-for-zwo-am5/

There are pictures of mounting an AM5 on a Meade tripod.

Thanks for the video, it looks great. Sorry to hear about the rainy season :)

Love that this uses USB-C ports. I have a SkyGuider with a micro port and it became wonky after very few uses.

Thank you for sharing the unboxing video. I have watched it. I understood that WD-17S has been designed well, so we can use many optional parts for ZWO AM5. Since I would use WD-17S controlled by ASIAIR Plus, I might not use wireless/wired controller of WD-17S. I guess I will have wired controller because it will be shipped via air.

Looking at the unboxing video, I noticed that the ST-4 port is a USB-C type.  How do you connect a standard ST-4 cable (RJ-12) to the mount's USB-C connector?

We can provide the ST cable for Type-C to RJ-12 (please let us know when ordering)
