That's a good deal. Maybe too good? They need a telescope price adviser.

Looks like a pretty decent objective from a classic 60mm Sears refractor advertised as “sun shade” very good price if you have this scope and need a new lens.

Nice set of the brass Brandon eyepieces with that one.  Those run around $1000-1500 for the set.

What a wonderful deal! The Brandon scope and mount are easily worth $2000. The eyepieces are worth nearly as much, I think. Maybe more. Brandon collectors out there, what do you think?

I think it's way over priced.  It's not new for crying out loud.

Agreed but, they are well out of production and the supply is limited so, to some, they are worth the expenditure. I have a feeling that some EPs are well overrated because of psychological bias.

Not long ago a set of Brass Brandons sold for $2000.  To someone longing for brass brandons I agree it is a very good deal.

Yep, the guy is parting out a Sears 6305a.  If he gets all of his asking prices on the individual parts he will be getting 3x what the scope is worth.

Price is vastly different than ages ago.  I got three of them for $700 each, I got an alt-az Unitron mount for $400 and a Unitron 4 inch OTA for $250.00.  That was in the mid-1990s.  Obviously, collectability and reputation have pushed them all up considerably.

that Brandon set up with the mount and the eyepieces is a great deal. To some it might not seem like it.  It all depends what you collect.  To a collector that collects fine examples of rare scopes this is a bargain.   To others who do not collect these types of scopes it might seem overpriced.  I bet you think all the 60 and 70's muscle cars that sell for hundreds of thousands is silly also.

Yes, old school muscle cars are a scam except the ultra rare. IMHO.

I have owned many.

Solar projection assembly for Unitron 3" refractor:

https://www.cloudyni...-screen-system/

Other things have been slowly showing up here and on Ebay, like the lens, focuser, finder, clamshell, etc.  Looks like another Unitron is being parted out.  I'm sure the excuse again is that the tube was badly dented.
