All,

I have a Losmandy G11 Gemini 1, Level 3 that I received from an auction. I had to do a few maintenance items and it is up and running and the gotos seem to be pretty good. I have tried autoguiding with some success (see attached dumbbell nebula), but I had to throw out quite a few subs. My main problem seems to be that the mount is not able to guide in dec with my autoguider. I use the Lacerta MGEN 3, which, as far as I know, uses the typical ST4 commands for guiding. The MGEN3 has worked well on a Celestron AVX. The MGEN3 is able to set up and run on RA only for guiding, but can't seem to get the Dec to run. The odd thing is that I have a hand controller that can plug into the autoguider slot and it seems to run the Dec there too.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Chris

Chris, most Losmandy gurus hang out at the Losmandy user group. I strongly recommend that you join there.

Make sure you're using the correct port.  Roger is absolutely right about checking with the Losmandy users group.  Also, this info might also be helpful to you.  Gemini 1 FAQ > #8 Autoguider Ports
