My 20 year old LX 90 has been working fine using a DC adaptor cable.

After plugging it in, it was working fine, when the power and the LED light went out.

I tried using 8 C batteries (all new) and still no power or LED light.

The telescope companies here are not interested and suggested an electrician...trying to find one who will look at it.

Contemplating having a look inside...any suggestions?

A shortcoming of the LX90 is the traces on the power board.  Read this thread.  You want an electronics technician, not an "electrician".  There should be someone in or near Brisbane.  Look for a "stereo repair" shop or "electronics repair" shop.  They can do the work on the board if necessary.

Gday Conar

Just for info, there are no fuses in the Meade LX90 mounts.

A blown fuse in the power cord would explain part of it

but if it also failed with batteries, then it was something else

as they provide direct power, no fuses involved.

Either way, if its going, be happy

Strange Andrew, The electronic repairer said he repaired a fuse...maybe it was something different..
