Folks planning on building a Dob. The base that houses the mirror would be made out of plywood. I have a Nowak mirror cell. Any ideas how I can mount the mirror cell in the plywood base? Any and all ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

I eliminated the tube mounting part of the Novac cell and used the rear of the mirror box instead on my 17.5-in dob.

In an earlier iteration I mounted the entire cell on the rear of the mirror box and there was no difference in performance.

So you used the collimation bolts to mount through the plywood?

Yes, I had some flanged bushings pressed into the 3 collimation screw hole locations in the plywood, the springs rest on the flanges.

The only problem I encountered was that made the mirror end lighter and I had to add counterweights lol.gif
