I have a Bosma 150mm Mak.  It has a ring adapter to allow SCT accessories to be attached.   But I do not know what threading is at the rear port.   

 

I want a ring adapter with the Bosma Mak threading on one side and 48mm on the other so I can connect a 48mm reducer without having to double up on adapters.   This is the same basic telescope as the iOptron 150mm Mak.  https://www.ioptron....duct-p/6101.htm

According to this thread on CN, the iOptron 150mm Mak has 58 mm threading.   https://www.cloudyni...epiece-adapter/  If true, I need a 58mm to 48mm ring adapter.

 

Any verification of this?

I looked among my adapters and found a Sensei 58mm male to 48mm female ring adapter.  The 58mm male threading on the ring adapter screws right onto the rear of the adapter which came with the Bosma to connect it to SCT accessories.  But the adapter only has a few 58mm threads.  I don't know if I want to trust that to hold secure a reducer, 2" diagonal and eyepiece.  So, I'll look for a thicker ring adapter.

Sometimes my threads are pretty much just thinking out loud in public. 

 

The trick now is to find a thicker ring adapter with more 58mm threads.  So far, it doesn't look like they exist.  The available ring adapters are thin ones designed for photography.

 

It's good, though, to know the threading on your telescopes.  I immediately entered that info into my Cats spreadsheet.

It would make things easier if there were SCT threaded reducers without the correction factor.   (Or better yet, 58mm threading, though I don't see that happening.)   But all the reducers appear to have 48mm threading.

 

Maks have much less field curvature than SCTs.  Maks don't need the correction for FC.  But a reduction in f number would be nice. 

 

On the other hand, I'm not really sure it would be worth it.  Something else to experiment with, though.
