The Pleiades are out. So I took some old data through my latest workflow…

This is my third go at this capture. With Siril, I feel like I'm getting close to eeking out what I can from the data…

I don't remember exactly the details of the exposure but I did it with my trusty modded Canon 6D.

Have you tried reprocessing with GHT? It made a huge difference over my prior attempts in bringing up the background dust…

In Siril, Generalised Hyperbolic stretch Transformation. It allows for the dynamic range of asinh and MTF with much tighter controls.

This was the result the last time I shot the Pleiades several years ago, using my 7DII and Canon 400mm f/5.6L. I believe I had it mounted on my iOptron SkyGuider Pro.

-90 @ f/5.6, 60 sec, ISO 1600

-94 @ f/5.6, 120 sec, ISO 1600
