Hi,

Here are some images of the October 13 annular eclipse taken from Forest Gump Hill (not far away from Monument Valley) in Utah.

The weather was splendid: coronal sky, no wind, very little turbulence. Too bad the eclipse was only annular...

The relative motion of the lunar disk accros the solar disk makes it possible to scan the profile of the lunar limb with high resolution. For fun, I tried a low tech reconstruction of  the limb profile by assembling successive images taken during contacts C2 and C3.
Here is the result in comparison to the profile of the limb calculated on the basis of Kaguya data:

The correspondance near C3 point is rather good. The profile profile was less bumpy near C3.

Here are some full resolution / true color images, showing the darkening of the solar limb and also its brownish color compared to the color of the solar disk center :

The equipement used was a Sigma 150-600 mm f/6.3 lens with a 1.4x extender, Nikon Z6 camera, iOptron mount and Baader Astrosolar ND3.8 (up to about 15 min before C2) and ND 5 (afterward) :

Nice work!  I especially like comparing the images to the lunar limb profile.  I have done that for totals.
