Hi,

Email that picture to Lunt with a description and give them a call. They'll probably take care of it.

Very best,

HI,
It happened to mine a couple of times too. My Lunt 60mm is from 2012. Both times I cleaned it with Arexon headlight polish, but I believe there are other similar products in the US.

In practice it is an abrasive paste with the consistency of toothpaste. Simply remove the blue filter from the BF using gloves and pass the product with cotton on the filter. You have to be a little energetic to be able to remove the growth and then calmly try to eliminate any residue of the product from the filter, changing the cotton often and trying to be less decisive to avoid possible scratches. My blue filter is like new again, I keep it checked because over time the problem can return. Or you can order a new blue filter from Lunt, it's cheap. And now it should have better protection to avoid these problems.

Lorenzo

The blue glass filter is a pre-filter that goes between the etalon and the blocking filter which is red.  They are inexpensive compared to the blocking filter.
