From this past Wednesday night at our local dark sky site (Bortle 2-3). The California Nebula.

I had a frustrating session thanks to fickle guiding. I was constantly having to stop and restart the auto guiding. It was probably due to not being balanced, though I thought I had checked that when setting up. It could be my star tracker is in need of a re-greasing of the gears as well. I think I managed a decent image regardless of the issues, though the issues probably cost me an hour of data gathering time.

Here are the details:

Mount: iOptron Skyguider Pro

Telescope: RedCat 51

Camera: ASI183 MC Pro. Guide scope and guide camera: ZWO Mini guide scope and ASI 120 MC-S

Run through the ASIAir Plus

120 exposures at 2 minutes each for a total of 4 hours of data. 40 Darks, 100 Biases, 50 Flats

Filter: Optolong L-Enhance

Stacked and initial Processing in Siril. Processing and final save in Photoshop

Clear Skies!

Randy

Very nice.  Tracking looks good to me.  I am not sure if it’s just the JPG conversion or not.  But, it looks like focus could have been a slight issue.  Do you use an auto focuser?  I just wonder because when you shoot for 4 hours your focus will shift due to falling temps.
