Hello everyone!

I am fairly new with astronomy and have currently been using an 8" Dob. As I have gotten more and more into the hobby I was recently gifted a HEQ5 mount and now am planning on getting the OTA to use with it. I am only doing visual (and do not currently plan on doing photography), and I was wanting to get either 9.25 SCT or a 7" Mak for more planetary viewing. I keep reading differing opinions about if the scopes would be undermounted on the HEQ5 especially at higher magnifications. It seems like the 7" Mak may be ok but how about a slightly heavier 9.25?

Thanks for the help.

For visual both should be fine.
