mars meteorite?

I have bought a collection of stones and in between them was this cutt off piece. Could it be a mars meteorite???

It's possible, but highly unlikely. I've heard rumor that some very high-end collectors use random scraps of Mars Meteorites as packing material around their large diamonds... similar to using Styrofoam peanuts when packing Christmas Tree Ornaments. I'm skeptical... unless most of the stones in the collection are big diamonds.    Tom

you never know stranger things have happend. it has a very large melt vein what looks like
