I just ordered the Williams set and two Astrotech 7mm UWA eyepieces,  I hope they work well, I'm mainly interested in planetary. Scope is a TS Optics 125mm APO Doublet. Has anyone used these eyepieces in a binoviewer, if so what were your results?

Just so you know, the 7mm UWA is really an 8mm.

Less magnification can't hurt when it comes to merging, I think this setup is going to be excellent on the moon.

Sounds like a great combination. I like to keep the FL a bit longer on most bino sets. The WO EP's are fairly light and reasonable quality.

I bought a set of WO binoviewers many years ago and they introduced me to the wonderful world of BV.  I was happily surprised at the performance of the 20mm SWANs that came with the kit.

 

After you get comfortable with the BV, the 7mm (or 8mm) UWA eyepieces should be fine, and I think you will discover other eyepiece pairs that also work well.  The only downside is you will be buying TWO of everything from now on.

The WO binoviewer is a great one for me. I had a set of Orion and a set of Celestron, and they did not work as well as the WO. Focusing and eye distance is so much easier to set. For the money, they can not be beat,, IMO. If you have never used them it may just take a time or two to get used to them, but after that, they will be a breeze. You will quickly learn how to look through them without having shadows etc, about like a pair of big binoculars. Good Luck. They work exceptionally well on the planets.

Unfortunately my Williams Optics Binoviewer was sent back. There was so much wobble in the right diopter, they were unusable.  I had to apply pressure to the eyepiece to get any pair to merge. I spent hours trying to make it work. Even with both diopter screwed all the way in there was collimation issues.

This is not necessary at all. It is quite enough to have a Barlow × 2 lens, which has the ability to unscrew the lens block. I have such a lens 2". I have custom-made a 2-inch adapter with a 2-inch thread for the filter, into which I insert the binoviewer with or without a complete 1.6× corrector, and then I can insert this adapter into Barlow or screw the block directly into it. These combinations give me an additional 4 different magnifications using one pair of eyepieces.
