Roger Jarvis baseball field (off to your left as you enter the park).  It's being totally rebuilt.  This view is looking from the outfield towards where home plate will be.  Notice the grading on the right portion of this picture.  Previously, this area was very low.

6 deer near the new restroom/shower house.  Later that morning on my 3.2 mile perimeter hike, I saw 18 more.

My last trip to Calhoun was on Saturday April 6th of this year and I remember being somewhat disappointed in the clear weather in that I wished it hadn't arrived so early in the weekend. I would have preferred the clear skies delayed by two days but unknown to me at the time I had nothing to worry about.

I broke the scope out his past Labor Day Weekend, the first time since April 6th. I took a few extra days off and to maximize my observing chances I went to that other place up north.

Can't wait to get back to fall observing at Calhoun.
