Hi,

Before I engage in a purchase of a DSLR, has anyone tried to use the Nikon D850 with Eclipse Orchestrator? The supported Nikon cameras listed on the website at http://www.moonglowt...Supported.shtml stops at the D810A, and I am considering the D850 for the eclipse.

I have a Macbook Pro M2 Max, and a Windows 11 laptopt (intel). Is it compatible with Windows 11? The support page stops at Windows 10.  is there any other software you would recommend to fully automate shooting totality with a Nikon of the D or Z series?

Thanks

It's working on Windows 11 for me.  Can't answer the Nikon question though.

If your not a Apple computer person it might be a bit of a learning curve. However Solar Eclipse Maestro http://xjubier.free....y_Software.html is a wonderful program I ran my Nikons back in 2017. Lots of practice needed to script and setup but so worth it. I watched the entire eclipse while the cameras did all the work only had to remove filters and place back on when needed. The software has been updated but only runs on older Mac's OS which you can pickup a refurbished Mac reasonable price.

Good luck in your research.

Thank you, I opted to go mirrorless with a Z7 ii.

I have both Mac and PC, no particular preference for the eclipse, i'll go with whatever software works best, I'll bring whichever laptop can run it. Probably bringing both as I'll have also 3 other cameras to automate, including a Canon. Nikon's world is just really new to me.

I'm using a Z6II just fine w/ EO, though you have to pick RAW+Jpeg fine to get just RAW files. Also, it goes through a battery in probably less time than the entire eclipse.
